On Our Pantry: Eminence Five
“Not all eggs are the same.”
If you’ve cracked a chicken egg by Eminence Five you’ll find orange yolks with a rich flavour. These healthy eggs are produced by healthy chickens that roam a farm situated in Ipoh, speckled with trees and lined with a river. The free-range chickens enjoy a feed of herbs, vegetables, and fruits grown at the farm, as opposed to highly processed feed.
Founders Kok Yuen and Maurice left their banking careers in search of a food source that is high in nutrients and free from harmful chemicals. Meeting a chicken farmer who himself did not employ antibiotics and hormones for his chickens set their course to find a better egg.
Looking towards Japanese chicken farmers known for their superior eggs, they discovered a natural feed that is high in astaxanthin, an antioxidant that helps them produce nutrient-rich eggs with a signature orange yolk. After 2 years of R&D, the vibrant and nutritious Kodawari egg hatched into the market.
